How Pip follows up on permits

See when a permit follow-up is suggested and how to review it.

Updated1 min readbuddies

Pip can suggest a follow-up when a permit remains in Submitted or In review for more than 1.5 times the AHJ's median approval time. If that timing is unavailable, the fallback is 21 days.

Review a permit follow-up

When a suggestion appears in the Buddies inbox, review the permit and the proposed next step. Depending on the situation, you can:

ActionWhat happens
ApproveSunrAI records the follow-up and creates a task for the appropriate person. The permit status remains unchanged.
SuppressHide the suggestion for a selected reason and period.
RejectMark the suggestion as incorrect.

Choose a suppression reason that explains the situation, such as waiting on the AHJ or already receiving approval outside SunrAI. This gives your team context if the permit appears again.

Troubleshooting

"I keep seeing a follow-up for the same permit." — Approving a suggestion creates a task but does not change the permit status. Update the permit when its status changes.

"I don't see a follow-up for a permit that is taking a long time." — The permit must be in Submitted or In review. If the AHJ's typical timing is unavailable, the fallback period is 21 days. You can create a project task to follow up sooner.
